    getting Covid vaccine Pfizer

    Hello everyone,

I am due to get my first shot of Covid vaccine today and I am so scared of side effects. I have read of people having heart problems, heart attacks and swelling of the heart or something. I need some good positive vibes pls!!! Covid has sprung up again in the worst way. So many cases in Florida and the hospitals are full of young people.

I had the Pfizer vaccine back in Feb and April. Other than my arm feeling heavy and a bit sore for a couple of days, I didn't have any symptoms. Sending positive vibes your way! You'll be fine!

I've had mine today after being a bit hesitant to get it (mainly anxiety about how my body will react). I'm just over 5 hours in and I'm not feeling anything yet. It's definitely the worst part though, worrying about the side effect. I'm just trying to keep busy!

You're right Mez, it's more the thought of it and the fear of worst-case scenarios that's always far worse than the real thing itself.

While it's true that there have been a few isolated cases of complications from the jabs (whose risks essentially come with pretty much all medication), they're extremely rare and such risks and fears have most certainly been hyped up out of all proportion, particularly by the serial antivaxxers and Covid non-believers.

I've had 2 doses of Pfizer myself, first in February and second in May, and I'm still alive and well.

Good luck! You'll be fine. I'm 8 hours in now, and still ok so far and I've had covid (it's supposed to be worse if you've had covid, female and under 40, so I tick all 3 boxes!)
I don't know how far along the symptoms tend to kick in though so I might be lulling myself into a false sense of security here!

Do you live in Florida? I live south east Florida and yea it’s soooooo bad. I got my first shot 6 days ago. I wish now I had gotten it sooner 🙄 I had no side effects other then a night with a sore arm, oddly enough I didn’t feel the needle nor the medication that went in at all. It literally felt like the pharmacist didn’t even give me a shot.

The wife and I had the Pfizer shot in the Spring and other than the usual, we're good. No worries in getting a booster in an few months along with the Flu vax. Hopefully, they'll come up with a combo.
