    Venlafaxine help

    Hi everyone.
I’ve been on venlafaxine for about a week and a half now. Can it cause you to feel lightheaded? Has anyone experienced this before?

It is a very common initial side-effect of most serotonergic ADs (and also a common anxiety symptom) triggered by the initial boost in serotonin activity. It usually settles down after a few weeks as bio-feedback mechanisms kick-in and reduce serotonin synthesis and expression though it may return for a short while after dose increases. While unpleasant it does not indicate physical harm.
