I'm a 29 year old male, and I just had a variety of routine blood tests done the other day after having my annual physical. My doctor messaged me to let me know that everything looked good, except my WBC was borderline low, at 3.4 x 10(3) mcL, and wants me to get it re-checked. The RBC, platelets, etc. look fine, so I find it strange that my WBC is the outlier, but this has me concerned, considering how many issues a low WBC count can be related to. I'm considering not even going to get this re-checked or getting routine blood tests done in the future, considering how it seems like every time I go to the doctor, I find something new to be concerned about that I wasn't concerned about before.
