    ibs query

    hello,

i just read the ibs section on this forum and am now a little worried...ivehad ibs (d) for approx 6 years now...

i read the section that said symptoms that are not typical ibs symptoms and may be something else....

because of the D i occasionally get tearing so a blood spots...i have been told this is common for ibs people...

also, if ive naughtilyhad a big bad meal for dinner...i will (rarely) wake up in the nite with gut pain, i then have to go to the loo to releive it...sometimes the pain is so bad i FEEL like ive got a fever...which goes away after loo relief of course.....

on a couple of occasions over the years the pain has been so bad my body has become sweaty because of it...again, only relieved when body has rid itself of food....

so, am i still a normal ibs sufferer as ive been told often by docs and other ibs ppl, or should i worry now?
i read on an ibs forum once that ibs pain is capable of being WORSE then labour pains.....-dont know why im so scared of the idea of giving birth if thats the case...lol...
    can anyone relate here?

    Re: ibs query

i forgot I used to suffer bad like that thru my 20's , had the terrible pains and sweating with it (nasty). Then I went to see a specialist who got me on a plain diet , avoiding cabage, sprouts, oranges, cauliflower, spicy food, and liquid milk and bread. It cured the pains for me and also the bloaty tummy.

ask your gp for a diet to maybe help ?

    Hi

I also have IBS and found I coped with labour pain way better than the pain I get with IBSand Im not exaggerating! This was probably due to the happy outcome of labour and knowing the pain had a purpose and would end.I can be crying with IBS pain , its really horrendous.I get shakes, sweating
and feel really lightheaded too :(
I also have to say, dairy is no good for me either.I get sweats and pain in the night with it sometimes too depending on what I've eaten that day

peppermint capsules worked great for me, its playing up at the moment actually as I feel extra stressed. They are called Coloflacs or something...ask the Chemist?? Good luck. Sounds like how I get.

    hi!

interesting info coming through on this post, its been great!...

i found that as much as i love aloe vera juice, that puts me in pain everytime! and so does too much soda...like, i can have say a small glass and be ok, but anymore then that, and im guarenteed a world of pain...
so too food ladened with grease.....id been having an orange or two a day lately cause i know i need the vitamins, but ill stop that, it must be whats helping to make it all worse lately...plus the stress isnt helping....hehe...

went to the healthshop, and was given two tablet types to take- salt tablets- silica and comb 12.........apparently i chew 6 a day till symptoms go away..so ill let you all know how it goes.....i wanted multi vitamins to help me feel better, but health ppl said no point cause my body is passing everything too fast, so need this first, then my body will be able to digest nutrients better from both my food and vitamin tablets...interesting eh??
