Pus in urine - no infection....

    Hi

I not posted on here for a while. I have been doing really well with health anxiety for a good few years but it is back again. I came off my tablets this summer after going right down gradually over 2 years.
My new worry is bladder related.

I wonder if anyone can help. I am 49 year old female and all through my earlier years I was bothered with urinary symptoms pretty much every 3months. I would have blood in my urine pretty much all the time . Eventually when I was about 30 I was referred to a urologist who did a few tests and also did a dilation of my urethera . Since then I never had any issues. I went on to have 2 children who are now grown teenagers
Roll on to present day and over last 2/3 years I have had recurrent what feels like uti but samples always come back clear. They tend to just go again and gp did query thrush
However a few weeks ago I woke in night with the most horrible pain in my urethea like I need to go urgently and pain went down my groin as well. It was like a muscle spasm in urethea feeling and took a while for pee to come. The next day I was so sore all day like I had a uti. This has happened 3 times now and I constant feel now like I have a sore urethea and need to pee. I had 2 dipstick samples done at doctor which both were clear and one swab of vagina again clear. I had a culture test done on Friday and had a follow up gp this am.
My gp said the urine showed no bacteria but there was pus in it which I believe is white/red blood cells. She said she thinks I have Urethritis and said to take ibuprofen as it imflammation not infection. However google seems to say that pus is sign of a infection . She wants me to do another sample tomorrow first thing. And she did another swab today
Has anyone had experience like this or pus in urine . Did it go away? I feel very sore with it and starting to get a bit anxious as well that it won't go away and it something more serious
I also not going to start nurofen until I do my second urine test. I also scared I will wake in night with that pains again as they are so horrible and scary. Any help reassure me

Urgent referral please help pelvic mass

    Hi
I posted earlier this week on health anxiety page about uti symptoms
However things have got a lot worse . Yesterday I noticed some blood spotting from vagina. Phoned doctor and she asked me to come in today for a pelvic exam
She found what she called a mass probably in my uterus and now has referred me for an urgent scan
I am terrified I have womb or ovarian cancer but she did mention fibroids too
I have private insurance via my work so referred me private but not sure how long that will be
    I can’t stop crying . I am 49 with 2 children
    Please help

Oh you poor thing. I can imagine how you are feeling right now. But things are almost certainly not as bad as you imagine. Fibroids are much much more common than cancer. You need to just take it each day at a time and try (not easy I know) not to second guess. You are being investigated and very soon you will have answers and a plan. The waiting is the worst bit, so you are in my thoughts x

When I was going through investigation for cancer (breast… and it wasn’t; but the doctor thought it likely) i found the helplines at cancer research incredibly helpful. The phones are manned by specialist nurses and they are extremely kind and informative. And good to just listen while you cry if that’s what you need (I did). Hang in there

It’s a scary time, but just remember that your GP isn’t really trained to diagnose what it is, which is why they are sending you for specialist care.
She did mention fibroids though which would be one of the most likely things here

    Hi

I went through something similar a few years ago. My GP thought I had womb cancer because of spotting and she thought she could see thickening on my cervix. I went into a complete tail spin, I’ve already had breast cancer, which made my GP even more concerned.

Had an NHS appointment within 2 days for an ultrasound and they couldn’t find anything at all wrong.

Hang in there, I will be thinking of you, waiting is the worst part. GP’s only know so much and it’s their job to be cautious and refer you for additional testing xx

There is no harm in phoning. You will feel better when you have a date.
I also have a good friend who went through something similar. Spotting, followed by gp finding a mass. I can’t remember what it was…. But it wasn’t cancer.
