It’s been a while since I’ve posted. Just for some back story, about 5-6 years ago, I started to feel palpitations. They did an echocardiogram, EKG, monitor, etc. Everything seemed normal and it was chalked up to anxiety. I learned to ignore the feelings and they only occasionally pop up.
Over the last few months, I’ve had a new sensation when it feels like I have an air bubble that goes down my throat, down into my chest, and then ends up in my stomach. Sometimes, it feels like my heart is dropping out of my chest. The whole way down, it feels like the air is being squeezed out of me.
When this happens, I panic because it’s not a split second event. It takes a couple seconds for this process to end. Afterwards, the anxiety kicks in and I start to tell myself I’m about to die of a heart attack.
I don’t know what this is, but it’s really upsetting. There doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to it. I’m anxious most of the time, so I can’t say there’s one particular cause, if it is anxiety.
