    Swallowing tablets

I cant swallow these tablets called metronidazole for infections it says do not crush or chew but i let it dissolve in my moth before i was able to swallow it with some food.
Im worried that my infection wont go away due to this.
What do you think? Has anyone used this medication before?

Contact your pharmacist Delilah or GP. I've not used this, but I should imagine it comes also as an oral suspension - see if this could be prescribed instead ?

    It does definitely say -

Swallow the tablets whole (that is, without chewing or crushing them) with a full glass of water.
Directives like this are created for a reason and whilst I can't say what that reason is, there will be effectiveness behind it.

Okay i will call them tommorow to let them know about it. I just read online that allowing it to be crushed or melt in your mouth can cause side effects and it may be dangerous as the medicine gets released very quickly

    Re: Swallowing tablets

I don't know if it is helpful, but sometimes when I have to take larger pills that are harder to swallow, I will take them with a thicker liquid, like orange juice or milk, because it helps them go down much easier/I don't feel them as much.

After swallowing, you could follow up with a full glass of water as the instructions say.
