Marie

There is a young woman
who comes at night,
in her clear blue eyes
there lies love's light.

With gentle smile
upon pale lips,
she smooths his sleeping
brow with love's tender kiss.

And yet stay she cannot
for she is but a dream,
that flits through his sleep
though to him it would seem,
as she turns away to depart,
that she laid her soul upon his heart.
