Abnormal bleeding

So I had anaphylaxis on 16th dec I had prednisone steroid put through vein also a 5 day course of prednisone. Since this I had spotting on the 28th dec then again on the 9the jan then again on 31st jan this one seems to fo heavy and light. I've just had some bloods done and waiting on a pelvic scan. I've been on the depo a year and half and only seem to spot when I'm due injection so this is not usual for me. I nocstwroids can mess with periods but I was only on it 6 days. Really starting to worry. Also my smear came back normal

Hello. I am sorry to hear you have been through this.

1) you have had a smear test. If it is clear this is a v good sign.
2) there are a lot of reasons for abnormal bleeding.
3) you have a clear cause (steroids). The doctors are also doing follow up tests to make sure which should reassure your further. Waiting for the results is horrible but remember the doctor is being precautious because it hasn’t cleared itself up.

Have you spoken to the doctor about your anxieties? I think saying to the doctor you were only on steroids for 6 days so your worried this can’t be the cause is a good place to start. They will have a much better idea of whether this is normal or not compared with anyone else on the forum.
