Possible Lipitor issue

Hello Everyone! I am a 34 year old male and was told I had extremely high cholesterol. This was a year ago (33 then). I was on Lipitor and just stopped taking them out of forgetfulness. Took a blood test recently and once again was told I have EXTREMELY high cholesterol and also my liver spiked up in the results. I was put on Lipitor. I’ve been taking it for two weeks now. I’ve notice a dull pain on my lower right side of my stomach and also a dull pain under my right breast. It’s not constant and comes and goes. Noticed the other day I’m getting that same pain on the left bottom side now. Is this a side effect of the Lipitor? I understand muscle pain can be an issue but not sure that’s what it is or not. I’m just really stressed out that it’s something serious. Thank you!

I don't know but it is a plausible explanation especially given the timing. Did you have the same issues the first time you were on Lipitor (atorvastatin)?

I’m just really stressed out that it’s something serious.

The fact the pain is inconsistent in place and intensity suggests it isn't, but this is something only your doctor can determine so get it checked if only for your peace of mind.

When I first took Lipitor I did have stomach issues but they felt different from what I remember.

I suggest you discuss this with your doctor. Another statin might be just as effective without the side-effects.
