Scary ultrasound result ovarian cyst

Hi everyone,
I went for my pregnancy ultrasound and instead got a result of a cyst on my left ovary. It is described as a solid cystic lesion with a possible septation. I’m freaked out to the max right now. The doc will call me tomorrow to discuss this. I’m so so afraid. Has anyone gotten a result like this before?

I spoke to the doc and he said the cyst is of no concern.

However the report also says I have a heterogenous vascular area in my cervix. I know that vascular and heterogeneous are really really scary words. Pleaseeeee give me some help with this. I literally went for a pregnancy dating scan. I didn’t expect this! Also; the doc didn’t mention the vascular area as I already have another scan booked in two weeks time. I’m going out of my mind with worry.

First of all, congratulations on your pregnancy! I hope (other than this) that everything is going well?

A few things, and first is to try not to panic. The technician who did your ultrasound sees cysts day in and day out, and if they were concerned, you would have been referred. I was immediately when mine was found.

So many are found this way, during pregnancy scans, and I know it adds to your worry, but you have been told that it’s of no consequence. Your questions though, should go to your doctor as they are the ones who have seen the reports and decided on your diagnosis. Could you get a follow up appointment? They won’t mind at all.

Thank you so much for responding. I’m more worried about the cervical heterogeneous vascular area. I’ve heard that vascular is never a good thing

All vascular means is that it has a blood supply. It's not inherently good or bad, it's just a technical term.

What could possibly need a blood supply there besides the big C? I’ve googled to no end and I can’t find any good reason for something being vascular in the cervix.

Also, I do have an appointment booked but it’s not til the 18th. It’s pure agony. The doc did followUp with me yesterday but they never mentioned the vascularity. I only picked it up on the report myself. So this is why I’m freaking oit

If they didn't mention it, chances are it's not significant.

Could they just have missed it? Even the radiologist didn’t say anything under “opinion”

No, because it was noted. It clearly wasn't of any clinical significance.

I have one vascular cyst too. It remains unchanged since the last 5 years.
