My GF (25yo) counts syllables with her fingers. She's been doing it as long as I've known her. I'll look over and she'll be watching something on her iPad and I see her fingers moving.

Ask her how many syllables are in 'let's go eat fireworks' and she'll shout out '6' (or whatever) in an instant. She seems to go through phases where it's more pronounced than others - but it's always there.

She's on Lexapro (anxiety) but that doesn't seem to touch the counting.

I haven't seen many other OCD behaviors - no repeatedly checking to see if door is lock, stove on, hand washing, routines etc. Only possible thing is that she's incredibly organized.... Every label has to be turned facing out, everything has to be in the perfect place/order - she can spot disorder of something she's ordered in a split second.

Are there typical drugs we could try to tamp this down a little bit? So it's not so obtrusive? No psychiatrists in my country to speak of... Looking for drugs I can research.

Appreciate it.
