Tested positive for Covid for the first time and terrified

As the title says.

Been dealing with a cough and tight chest all day. I thought it was reflux until I did a test and it’s positive.

I’m currently dealing with a fever, aches, horrible hacking cough and pain in my right lung and a really tight chest when I breathe.

I’m double vaccinated but never got the booster so my last vax was 1 year ago.

I’m absolutely terrified. My health anxiety has massively flared up, I can’t stop panicking.

I’m shaking now as I type this with fear.

I’ve had problems with bad chest infections in the past, so I’m just petrified

Unvaxxed and obese here. Covid was pretty mild for me. Recovered 100%. You will be fine. There is a lot of hype about covid it was a politicized disease. That tends to increase anxiety about it.

I tested positive last week and had all the shakes, fever, banging headache, felt sick, achey legs, sore throat and eyes, sneezing, running nose. I've now got this coldy type, bunged up feeling and the odd headache and tiredness so hopefully it'll go soon.

You'll probably have a few days feeling rough but take paracetamol regularly and ibuprofen if you can, plus drink loads of water and try to eat. I couldn't eat due to the severe anxiety but once I'd had a good bit of food I felt loads better. You'll be fine soon!!
