Withdrawing from Diazepam

I've been on 2mg diazepam twice a day since September. I need, and want, to come off them. I have the full support of my doctor. I started cutting down last Saturday, so that I'm taking 1.75mg morning and 2mg evening. I had been feeling not too bad but today, since about lunchtime, I've felt horrible, panicky. Is this classic withdrawal? I should add, I'm also on propranolol- 10mg twice a day, although I did take another 10mg at lunchtime. I take them on cardiologist advice and allowed up to 60mg a day.

Is this classic withdrawal?

It could be, though it could also be psychological. Psychology is at least as important as chemistry when quitting meds, if not more so. The mind is capable of creating every withdrawal symptom imaginable if allowed to ruminate.

How will the anxiety be treated when you're off diazepam?

I should add, I'm also on propranolol- 10mg twice a day, although I did take another 10mg at lunchtime.
