I've had two ECHOs.
You'll be asked to remove your shirt/jumper etc and sticky pads will be attached to your chest (heartrate tracking).
There's a bit of gel and the sensation of the probe being passed over your chest. I was asked to lie on both sides, and flat on my back. (I was also asked to hold my breath periodically).
Once you've had it done, you'll understand there's nothing to worry about. I would much rather have this ultrasound than one that means I have to hold off going to the toilet...
