And so would most decent folks, which is why the vast majority is the silent majority. It takes courage and conviction to stand up in the midst of an angry mob (comprised of folks who may have just as much courage and conviction as you do, but who are taking the opposing view) and try to make your point heard, with sincerity and reason (even though your guts have turned to water, your legs to jelly, and your tongue’s sticking to the roof of your mouth!). But there are all those other ways I mentioned of making your lone voice heard, which require no less courage and conviction or a preparedness to be derided, trivialised, villified, threatened and dismissed. And you might find in the process that you’re not a lone voice but one of many.
