Over the past six months, I’ve been experiencing intermittent bloating, belching and discomfort in my stomach and chest.

The initial rounds of blood and stool tests in November all came back negative.

However, while I briefly improved, the bloating and discomfort continued. My GP diagnosed GERD and prescribed Omazerpole for a month, which helped a bit, though it didn’t solve everything. He also referred me to a specialist at the hospital as a precaution, though they offered me an appointment in February 2024!

However, after I was waiting for an appointment to get a repeat prescription, I noticed some black flecks in my stools.

My GP prescribed some repeat blood tests and another FIT.

This time it came back positive (63), though I still haven’t got the blood results, even after 3 weeks of waiting.
As a results, I’ve now got an OGD, Colonopscy and CT Scan in the next few days.

Needless to say, I’m petrified.

My GP still thinks it could be Gastritis (and thought I was silly to worry about stomach cancer due to the fact that I’m only 40) and the nurse at the hospital thinks HP, but I’m convinced its stomach cancer, or at least bowel cancer.

1). Is it normal to get three sets of tests at once?
2. Does the fact that I still have a strong appetite (and can eat large meals) suggest that stomach cancer is unlikely?
3. If it is bowel cancer, would a score of 63 suggest that it is early, rather than late stage?
4. Do the doctors and nurses give a running commentary on the procedure while it is happening?
