Anyone have sharp IBS pain low in pelvis?

I've suffered from IBS for most of my adult life, but haven't had any problems for a year or two.

The last month has been very stressful though and now I'm having intermittent pain low down in my pelvis, sometimes to the left and sometimes right.

It always shocks me as it's like a stabbing/shooting pain which lasts a few seconds. A bit like a ' stitch'.

It happens maybe three or four times a day - I can tolerate it, but I'm really worried in case it's cancer of the uterus or ovaries. Has anyone had this type of pain please?
It's been on and off for about three weeks.
    Many thanks everyone.
