First time making crusty bread rolls. Now I'm addicted.

Today I decided to start my journey in the land of bread ... and baking. I'm finding cooking is helping me a lot with my anxiety and gives my mind something different to focus on. I've been having a lot of feelings of worthlessness, and sort of like every day is groundhog day.

Made some crusty bread rolls, and they're absolutely fantastic. Taste just like the ones I'd get from Sainsbury's.

All done by hand the good old fashion way, like my nan would have done. I spent a few days leaning about bread, and the importance of kneading and proofing. And then took the plunge.

I'm really proud of these and I'm already planning my next bread (tiger tail loaf). Also, does anybody know the name of a type of cob sold in traditional bakeries? I remember them as a kid, and they sold them at my old local bakery. They're very soft, and dark brown on top. Sometimes the top was crispy, but they also sold the soft top versions too. I've looked at mortons rolls, and well fired rolls, and they're similar but don't look quite the same. Really hard to find a recipe for them.

    Anyhow, here's mine.

Those look delicious! Bread is one of my favourite things to make, you can do so much once you get attuned to the process.

I think I need a mixer. I've got carpal tunnel pain in my right hand/wrist/arm. Last time I had this was when I played piano. Now I am getting older!

Bread is good. Wasn't quite sure how to store it so I used some ziplock bags when they cooled and popped 2 in the fridge. I left 2 in the bread barrel.
