    Toothbrush panic!

I’m hoping somebody can talk me down from the ceiling right now because I’m spiralling.

Yesterday I was cleaning the bathroom and mid floor cleaning I knocked my electric toothbrush onto the floor. I stared at it for a second as it was on a bit of floor I was in the middle of cleaning so it was mostly dirty. I don’t get around to cleaning the bathroom floor too often so please don’t judge me on that point.

Anyway I picked it up and told myself to change the toothbrush head. I got the new head ready and in my head I thought I had changed it. Then I realised I hadn’t cleaned my teeth so I cleaned my teeth with what I thought was the new clean toothbrush head. I didn’t even really rinse it because I thought it was new!

Fast forward to this morning, I’ve cleaned my teeth again and opened my bathroom drawer and to my horror saw the fresh new toothbrush head open and waiting to be put onto my toothbrush. It the dawned on me that I used the dirty floor toothbrush not just once but twice.

I have horrendous health anxiety and emetephobia so I am currently spiraling out of control about the amount of germs and sickness infections that I have allowed into my body. I didn’t even rinse the damn toothbrush

I’m supposed to be returning to the office this week after three weeks off for a miscarriage so I don’t need this right now on top of everything else.

Agree with Fishman - you put toothpaste on it and then you spit and rinsed so I would not worry about this. Also the amount of dirty floor particles on it was also probably negligible.

I’m pleased to confirm that 6 days later and I’m still here.

Deep down I knew after my initial panic attack that I would be fine. I was annoyed for being stupid but rational thinking won overall in this circumstance
