Trazadone 200mg and sleep

Hi, I increased to 200mg of this med 3 weeks ago and reduced co-prescribed venlafaxine to 75mg. My sleep quality has reduced with increased early morning waking and increased anxiety. Does anyone have any ideas about whether this is because traz is less sedating at this dose. Might things improve over time? Thanks for your thoughts 🙏

Yes, trazodone becomes less sedating as the dose increases. But I suspect both the early awakening and heightened anxiety have more to do with the venlafaxine dose drop as both are common SSRI withdrawal symptoms and venlafaxine vies with paroxetine for being hard to quit.

Might things improve over time?

They most likely will as the withdrawal symptoms ease. You will likely also need a slightly higher trazadone dose for optimum results.
