Rabies doesn’t act that quickly, that’s why you have 10 days to get the PEP. And that’s if the cat had rabies in the first place, which he doesn’t, or if he had actually bitten you, which he didn’t.
I get it - rabies is terrifying. But you are going to be okay, because you don’t have it. Health departments don’t mess around with it - if they thought in any capacity you were at risk, they would tell you. But you haven’t been exposed.
