Okay, so it's day 28 or so, and there's good news: the nausea is much better, and the world is seeming a little brighter, so for anyone reading who is struggling - hang in there! Ginger, as recommended by PNM above, has helped a lot!

I'm down to 7.5 mg mirtazapine, hoping to jump off that soon, still on 37.5 mg venlafaxine, but will speak to GP about increasing next week.

Not out of the woods yet, but it's nice to have a bit of relief!

A friend is currently having chemo for cancer and was advised to drink peppermint tea and also apply a drop of peppermint oil to the upper lip under the nose for nausea and both seem to have made a difference.

...and we're back in the woods. Extra stress has piled on, and I've had a little breakdown at work.

GP has upped the ven to 75 mg (which I was planning anyway), and I'm going to take a few weeks off on sick leave to get my head back together. Hopefully the drugs get to work soon...

You will likely need to take 100-150mg to get a good response, maybe more.

75mg is the low end of the typical therapeutic range so you may begin to notice an improvement in 4-7 weeks, but I wouldn't wait that long to see if 75mg will be enough. I'd up it in a week or two to 100mg if your GP okays it.
