    Positive :(

Been feeling a bit off for a couple of days. Couldn't put my finger on it. Today I woke up dizzy with a fever and shivering like it was winter.

Spent the entire day in bed sleeping. My face feels like it's on fire. My eyes feel like they're on fire. I'm using ice cubes to keep cool. My bones and muscles hurt too.

I've only just tested. I'm at the ex's house because she has to go away for a week and I'm watching our son and the dogs. My brother gave me a lift earlier. She just gave me a COVID test, and there's 2 lines. So now I'm vegging out on the sofa watching junk on YouTube with my blanket.

I kind of felt like it was COVID before I tested. Feels the same as the previous times. The fever is rough. I end up in coughing fits sometimes too. I've got a fan pointing on me because I feel hot, but at the same time have goosebumps and feel cold. So strange

Time to ride it out. At least I don't have to walk the dog because she has a back garden. My son walked him today, was lucky he was with me. I had no chance.

Mentally in a better place from the other day. Spoke to crisis team in the end. They helped.

Good to hear you are in a better place wired.
But getting covid again is unfortunate but you not what it is, you've had it before and your body will be able to fight it quickly. Rest as much as you can.

Cheers folks. I sweated a river last night, the sofa is wet. Feeling a little better today but fever still present. Yeah you're right Carnation, whenever I feel paniky about it I just tell myself I'm still relatively young and healthy.

No idea where I caught it from though I do not go anywhere really except walking the dog but that's alone.

    Maybe my brother.

    Re: Positive :(

Thought I was getting over it quickly because yesterday felt like I felt better. Was sweating all night while I slept I had to change my bed clothes at 4am. Up at 7 felt alright then I was hit with an overwhelming tiredness shortly after and fell asleep until now. My stomach is in bits. Painful. BM's seem normal but things are like rushing to get out if you catch my drift. I ate good yesterday though.

Shivering cold right now. Bad headache. Feeling extremely tired.

I had the constant cough yesterday that was making me vomit. That seems to have gone.

    This is so odd.

On the plus side I watched a lot of classic hood movies such as New Jack City, Harlem Nights, Above the Rim, Black Dynamite.

Today I may try some crime action drama. I'm open to suggestions.

These things can last a while wired but you're doing the right thing by resting up. Drink plenty of fluids to keep you hydrated.

    I'll have a think about the crime /action /drama.

We are really into Top Boy at the moment. Well worth a watch. Drug gangs in London. It’s got crime, action and drama so it ticks all your boxes.

Also, A Confession……with Martin Freeman, a bit gentler than Top Boy. I love MF though. He’s one of those actors who act with his face not just opening and closing his mouth. A detective who breaks the rules to solve a crime and gets into a mess. We are reallly enjoying it.

Hope you feel better soon. Last week my eldest had something horrible. He didn’t test but he reckoned he felt bad enough for it to be covid.
Then the week before, my youngest and his partner had something. He’s not quite over it yet. Still feels rough. He didn’t test either. So who knows.

    Re: Positive :(

A few weeks back on the BBC site, tucked away in the 'Health' sub-section', there was a little article suggesting a bit of a Covid resurgence across the country, but barely anything (if at all) has really been made of it since, as far as I'm currently aware.

But obviously not quite considered serious enough to warrant full-on wall-to-wall coverage, unlike during 2020-21. Nor are the media in general putting the fear of God into us over all things Covid any longer, though of course I don't wish to tempt fate by saying this.

I had a great sleep, and woke up this morning like a light switch had been pressed and it's gone. I don't get it. But I'm not complaining. Not sure if it was the bath that helped, or the copious amounts of chocolate I consumed while watching Topboy

Brilliant show Darksky! I had seen it before, but started watching it again yesterday. It's a very real depiction, of the problems in many cities at the moment. The acting was fantastic. I expected it to be a bit amateurish but it wasn't.

Lenco, I firmly believe it's the "keep calm carry on" attitude at play. I don't agree with it because I fear another pandemic, but it's a movement that's been put into swing many times since WW2. Only time will tell if it will have negative repercussions. It will be costly if a strain appears that causes problems.

Having COVID today is a lot less worrying than it was when the pandemic was in full flight. Catching COVID back then mentally felt like you had a plague. Now it feels like a flu. Physically it's much worse than a flu for me, but mentally there's less worry.

We are on the last episode. I like Jaq. She’s beginning to realise what the repercussions of her chosen path are….to others.

Have you seen Summerhouse? It’s a prequel to Topboy. Maybe should have watched it first but that’s next on the list.
