    Excessive sweating

I've been dealing with this problem since the weather got warm, but it's gradually getting worse. I have started to sweat even when doing light housework or out walking around town. I am on HRT so I don't think it's that. I've been on 10mg of escitalpram for around 5 months so I don't know why this would start as a side effect now? I am seeing my Dr but can't get in there until Aug 20th. I am terrified about Lymphoma or Leukaemia and I will ask him for blood tests. I lost my husband suddenly in February so since then I have been under a lot of stress, but the escitalpram was helping with my health anxiety up until now. Now I am waking up anxious every day again and really worrying that there is something seriously wrong with me and that I am going to leave my children 😢

I remember that you lost your husband Cattia

That was only in February, you are still in the depths of grief and shock. I do think his sudden loss is triggering your HA at the moment. It’s natural and in a way to be expected.
There are probably a good few reasons that will explain your sweating and I’m sure your doctor will put your mind at rest. Don’t worry ( easy to say) but you’re are not going to leave your children. This is your HA talking in your ear, heightened again by the loss of your husband.

Do you think this stifling humidity is affecting you?

Thanks Darksky. I do feel like I'm struggling to process everything. I know I've been through a phase of sweating before, mainly after eating which is still happening now. I will ask for some bloodwork and if that's normal I will try to accept that it's stress and anxiety. I guess health anxiety has always been my default when things are difficult and so it's not surprising that it's hit me now. I have ordered some instant ice packs so hopefully they will help me keep cool and help with the anxiety about sweating.

It can still be escitalopram! 5 months ago it was fairly cool so this side effect could not be noticeable, the heat causes everybody to sweat more, let alone people on SSRI! Also hormones can cause the sweating, thyroid and well, stress. I think the illnesses you're afraid of, would bring more symptoms than just sweating, especially if you've had this since the beginning of warmer months!
