    Lost All Hope

After numerous nervous breakdowns and many medications, I’ve finally given up hope on finding anything to give me my life back again. I just don’t want to be here anymore and feel panic is killing me softly. No hope anymore no hope I’m screwed now !!!!!

Hope is only lost if you give up.

What medications, for PD and other indications including supplements, are you on now, at what doses and how long have you been at that those doses?

Four meds, not one of which is a first line treatment for either anxiety, or depression and one of which, diazepam, is likely blocking vortioxetine from working to a significant degree although the pregabalin might reduce diazepam's negative impact on neurogenesis to some extent.

Last year we discussed trying a TCA, or maybe even a MAOI. Did you follow up on either?

There are no hopeless cases, but there are hopeless GPs and/or psychiatrists!

Nope life events took over and left me struggling to cope with family milestones and events, albeit there is a plan in place for a cross taper. Should I wish to trigger it and I fear any changes, more than you could imagine!!! I’m scared of living and afraid to die TBH. And see med changes as kill or cure !!! Nothing in between.

I’ve got funded psychotherapy starting 23rd, only taken 3 years, but that’s the NHS. Albeit I still believe that my condition is extremely clinical and therefore has a clinical solution. But the thought truly terrifies me and I’d rather die I think, than put my family through anymore.

So you think where you are at the moment is more comforting and/or safer in current circumstances than the alternatives?

Therapy induces the same brain changes as antidepressants. It is by no means a second best treatment option. Its main drawback is one of access, not efficacy.

I'd rather die I think, than put my family through anymore.
How would they feel about it?

Plus, what effect would it have on their lives? Would you want to send a family member down the same path you're on? It happens all too often.
