    Work triggers

I have ptsd from 15 years ago as a teenager being SA'd for a year in an abusive relationship. Ive only recently this year worked on this with a SA charity in group sessions. Ive made good progress with this but find that my new job ive been in for a year has started triggering this. Im a hotel manager and find myself around angry/loud/ even hostile people there. So have come to realise this is a trigger for me being shouted at. Im now looking for a new job but i hate having to change jobs often because of anxiety/ptsd. Anyone else have this trouble in jobs?
    Take care,
    Anna

    Re: Work triggers

I get very uncomfortable around angry people because of my emotionally abusive parents (and also an abusive relationship where SA was involved). I don't think it's something we can ever completely avoid in the workplace, but this is one occasion where I think you may be better looking for a new position. I can imagine that hotel management would make you a beacon for every loud and angry customer.
