Please help? Period worries yet again

I'm so sorry, it's the same as usual, you know the story.

Start of day 8 of my period, it almost went away for a few days but then I got nervy and began prodding myself and now I've bled onto a pad a couple of times today. Not much, just a few drops, possibly self injury

I'm meant to be going out of town for a fancy dinner tonight and it's worrying me so much, I don't feel like I can cancel but I've had a horrible year and I don't feel as though I can cope.

Please help? In work, feeling desperate.

I'm trying to remember my menopause journey blue but I had early menopause and its a bit distant. I can remember being all over the place foe a few months and the final one was almost like a haemorrhage where I had to sit on a bath towel for something like two weeks resulting in trip to A&E. I then didn't see anything for about 10 months then one normal 7/8 day showing and nothing after that. I do have a shelf pessary for a prolapse and quite a good relationship with my gyni doc and after a post meno bleed he reassured me that it was all quite normal. Not much help I guess but I hope it helped a bit......ain't it funny how we can be rational with someone else's health problems but totally irrational with our own. I hate HA with a vengeance

Take a deep breath my friend and try to rationalise it's just the dragon taking his fuel don't give him any more. You've had more than you fair share of stress this year so he's loving it. He can smell a chink in the armour. I'm sure everything is normal.....if your anything like me it could be the fancy night out that's fired him up rather than the spotting

BlueIris, sounds like your scary rollercoaster ride again. Day 8 is good, it's not day 12 or 14 so you have nothing to worry about. So annoying when it collides with a social event but if you go it will certainly be a great distraction and probably the relaxant you need.
Please try to trust your body doing it's natural workings, you really are ok. Keep telling yourself that. x

It is, yes. Of course, now I'm thinking what if it goes on to day 12 or 14. I'm such a bloody idiot (pun partially intended)

Don't you dare think that BlueIris.
Reel those thoughts in and chuck them out.
Think about the lovely dinner you are going to have. x

hugs Blue, I had a ten day one once. This will pass. You're not an idiot, please don't prod, you can cause yourself to have a UTI.

Finally feeling up to replying now, just wanted to say thank you for the help.

I was really lucky yesterday, the pharmacist called me to do my meds review and picked up that I wasn't okay. She was really understanding and offered me tons of helpful advice for things that I could do to help myself and try to get past my medical phobia.

Had a good time last night, but I knew I was going to pay for it later and woke up every 2 hours into full-blown panic attacks. On the whole I'm glad I went, but I'm also glad that my instincts about it being a bad idea weren't entirely wrong. Looking forward to the weekend now.

Glad you're a bit better Blue, I can totally relate to you. My OH had holiday vouchers from his employer when he retired last March and we still haven't cashed them in. He just loves looking through the TUI holidays me I absolutely dread it. I often wonder if that triggered this latest spiral
