I’ve went down the rabbit hole about my eyes again, this has been going on for a good 8 years. 8 years ago I went for a normal eye test, got told my optic nerve looks funny in one eye (my vision is rubbish in this eye) and had been referred to the eye hospital. I had my first eye test 2 years previous to this and apparently I had it then but wasn’t picked up. After hours of tests and then 6 weeks later a revisit they said it was curved so looked more swollen than normal. I’ve never been back for an eye test since as this has caused so much fear in me.
I visit this fear every now and then however I was scrolling on tiktok last night, first video that comes up is someone asking is it normal to hear their heartbeat in their ear and to have such head pressure when lying on their front. All the comments were people going on about iih (idiopathic intracranial hypertension) and it’s just given me such bad anxiety again. Since I was younger I use to remember sometimes hearing whooshing when lying down at night but not massively anymore and I have before felt the pressure of my head when lying on my front but again not really anymore, I’m talking years ago. I’ve still got the fear I have iih as my eyesight has worsened in that eye (8 years I haven’t been remember) and that all the comments were saying untreated it does lead to blindness. All the people talking about lumber punctures makes me feel ill at the thought as I don’t like people touching my lower back. I’m such a mess over this. Would I be so ill after at least 10 of having this weird nerve in my eye?
