    Nasal cancer worry

Hi all, I’ve not been on here for ages but I have and always suffered from HA. Anyway I had a really painful left nostril just before Christmas, I could feel a lump but left it and after about a week the pain went away. Fast forward to now and it’sleft me with a sensation of something there when I sniff just before the opening to the nasal passage , my actual breathing isn’t blocked , I saw a nurse and she said she could see a patch of what looked like skin that had grown and gave me naseptin to use for 10 days I am on day 5 now and no difference. I’m now thinking it could be a nasal tumour and I’ve completely terrified myself and can’t function as I did the dreaded Google search .

Hi Kitty Kins , hope you’re not spiralling too much. We all know to stay away from Dr Google yet we still do it. Sounds to me like it could be residual inflammation or maybe a nasal polyp.

Thanks for the reply , I hope it is just one of those things , of course Google says growths on one side are mostly meant to be sinister , I’ve not got many other symptoms, no bleeding or stuffiness yet , I am fighting with myself just now over it . I’ve to make another appointment when the ten days are up if it’s not cleared but it will probably be with the advanced nurse practitioner as every time I’ve asked to see one it’s always been the above , and that doesn’t help as I think she’s not as qualified as a gp to look at this thing in my nose .

It will be completely harmless so watch and see. No need to panic

Hey, things like that happen to me when the air at home is too dry. It takes ages to heal, but to prevent it from happening again, I recommend getting a humidifier for your bedroom or to just put wet towels on your bedroom's heaters

    Re: Nasal cancer worry

so I have went and gotten an appointment for Tuesday with a private ent , I had some Christmas money so decided instead of sitting here worrying any longer to go get it checked out , as I am feeling really scared and unsure especially with the naseptin cream not doing much for me . I have been praying that everything is ok but that niggly voice just will not let up,

I really don't think you need to pay privately to see someone to be honest.

Save your money and treat yourself and see a FREE NHS doctor if you are that worried.
