Horrible nausea after the flu

I need some support because I'm really freaking out and having a small mental health meltdown.

I've had the flu this week and it has been the worst. I had all of the usual symptoms. Yesterday morning when I woke up my stomach felt very sensitive and I ended up v****ing twice. I took some Nexium and that settled my stomach until around 5pm where the intense nausea came back. Oddly, I nearly passed out twice. It was horrible. I managed to get to sleep and today things were going fine. That was until around the same time, 5pm. I ate some toast to try and calm things down.

I had intense nausea after that and a really full feeling in my stomach. Since then (it's now 11pm and I'm on the sofa in a wreck) I've been v****ing this evening and it's causing me so much distress.

I've tried eating a little bit thinking that it's my stomach needing something in it, but it came right back up. It's making me feel very hot at times.

I think norovirus is also making the rounds. It shouldn't be dangerous, but it's obviously unpleasant.

It could also be after effects of the flu, sometimes the extra phlegm makes me sick to my stomach.

After flu, your stomach can be super sensitive, and nausea is common, but it can still be really scary when it's intense. One thing that might help is drinking some water with ginger or peppermint-they’re known for settling the stomach a bit. Also, if the nausea and vomiting keep coming back, it could be a good idea to check with a doctor just to make sure everything's okay. Resting and taking it easy is important too.

Hi guys,

I've been really suffering for a good few days since I made this thread. I suffer from flare ups of acid reflux and gastritis and this is what this is. I've been through this in the past and it can truly make me feel so low. Today I was prescribed some Omeprazole so I will see how things go. Doesn't help that I haven't been sleeping right either. It's all just turning me into a ball of sadness and despair.

So, I took Omeprazole for a few days. It did help my stoamch symptoms but goodness, it stopped me from sleeping. I had some issue sleeping before but when taking the Omeprazole it's just a blocker is put on my ability to sleep completely. It became quite distressing. As soon as I stopped taking them (yesterday) I was able to sleep amazingly.

My mood is constantly low at the moment because of all this. Yesterday evening I tried to eat a nice meal for dinner and ended up nearly V'ing twice as I had to burp and it came back up. It kinda just feels like something is in my throat.
