White ring round my mole

Last night while applying fake tan I noticed the outside of my mole wouldn't tan which has left a white ring around it. I attended the dermatologist a few weeks ago regarding this mole as it was sore and with my anxiety I was constantly focusing on it and poking prodding it. The dermatologist had a look with her scope and said it didn't look interesting and was just irritated with my clothes rubbing. I'm now back to freaking out as I've read this is a halo nevus? And they can be concerning in adults, I'm 37. I suppose If I didn't apply fake tan I wouldn't have noticed. Has anyone experienced this that can calm me down

well if it is that they’re common and the vast majority of the time completely benign so hopefully that will calm you down! They’re most usually caused by injuries to existing moles and in your case that would be a very likely explanation. Be reassured that you’ve had it checked but if it’s going to drive you nuts you could have it checked again
