Terrified: Putin Threatening a Nuclear Apocalypse

Hi,

I suffer greatly with panic attacks and anxiety, andI avoid the news for the most part but sometimes there is something genuinely interesting and not worrying in my social media feed and I 'd click on it to read more.

Lo and behold, this time, I see a thumbnail of Putins face and the headline something something..." Putin....Nuclear Apocalypse.. due to Kier Starmer...." something something and shivers went down my spine and now feeling shaky and nauseous.

I am on the Debunking Doomsday facebook group where a very knowledgeable guy called Robert Walker (founder)fact checks and debunks scary news.

Somebody else like myself posted in the group concerning this recent headline in the hopes that Robert Walker would get back and alleviate any worries, however he hasn't got back which is freaking me out .

Maybe he knows that this time Putin isn't messing around.

Im spiralling and not sure what to do with myself. If we are all gonna die let it be super quick!!!!

Hi there..

I just wanted to stop by and say you're not alone and I also worry. I also avoid the news and I totally avoid social media; but I understand not everybody can do that. Still ... something always slips through to set off my worry. I don't know about how serious this one is and know Putin is always threatening something because he is filth and incapable of telling the truth.

I understand you're freaked and I'd say try to avoid social media a little more.

I also worry, not so much because of Putin but because of my own country's administration.

I think Putin is a bad man, but I also don't think he's stupid. A nuclear attack would have negative effects for the entire world, Russia included. It's also not something even the oligarchs could easily escape, as they also need clean air, water, and food to survive and they can't live in bunkers forever (nor do they want to).

So, they'll do a lot of bluffing but ultimately won't act, at least not in that way, because the detriments would outweigh any possible gains.

I'll admit Scissel, I am finding my own anxieties rising. Not only because of the wars, but because they are moving so quickly to do damage that will take ages to fix (if it can be) and because of the increase in violence. After what happened in MN, and after apparently none of the top officials put out a statement to condemn it but instead chose to stoke hatred even more I really don't know what to expect.

Thankfully I have therapy tomorrow but it's making it near impossible to pursue the rest of my graduate degree with gusto or throw so much into my work. It all feels pointless, like a house of cards that is doomed to fall.

I wish my grandmother were still alive; she lived through the 30s and the 40s and even the scares after. I wonder if she felt the same way.
