Pain during sex and blood on the bedsheets

Hey guys, has anyone xperienced this or can offer any advice?

IÂ’m 41, been married for 5 years. Two nights ago, we had sex and it kinda hurt so we switched to oral instead (sorry tmi) it was dark and we went to sleep after.
In the morning I noticed a patch of blood under myself on the white bedsheets. It was about the size and width of two fingers.

IÂ’m trying not to spiral here, but do I need to get this checked if it has only happened once? Or can I monitor to see if it happens again?
It was the first time weÂ’d had penetrative sex in many months. So I donÂ’t know if this would be a regular occurrence or not.

My last smear was a year ago and it was all clear.
I had colposcopy in 2022 which was also clear.

IÂ’m so scared of spiralling, and I think the doctor would refer me for another colposcopy which would trigger my HA big time.

    Any advice anyone?

Hi, the fact you've had a smear a year ago is reassuring. When you say painful, do you mean pain or discomfort as in dry maybe? Have you continued to bleed? I'd get checked out by your gp but its likely something harmless like a UTI, fibroids etc but it will just play on your mind if you don't have it checked.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me.
In answer to your questions, the only way I can describe the pain is that he “didn’t fit” that kinda pain. But obvs we have been together for nearly two decades so I’m sure he does fit! Haha. I guess it was more of an achey pain that I’m pretty sure would’ve passed.
No more bleeding since. Not even in the morning when I wiped after my first wee. If I hadn’t seen it on the bedsheets I wouldn’t have even known it’d happened!

Maybe you need a bit of lubrication. I'm a good bit older than you but definitely in the last 10 years or so (I'm now 55) things are not as naturally lubricated down there 😂
