    Varicocele help

    Hi everyone

So my HA got the better of me and I went to the local A&E because the tightness around my testicle was getting really annoying, I went in and the doctor examined me, said my balls were normal except he thought he could maybe feel a hernia further up in my groin and he said he could feel a Varicocele.

And obviously, I sped home, and...I broke my code..I googled. And now I'm panicking like crazy that it's testicular cancer, I felt around and couldn't feel anything but I don't know what I'm even looking for, I can't get a GP appointment until next week so i'm stressing out like crazy.

Does anyone have any experiences with Varicoceles or getting them treated?

    Re: Varicocele help

Just thought I would update this as I've now been seen by my GP.

We had a talk about my fears and he felt around my testicles at quite some length, said my cremaster muscle was very active and pulling my testicle up but expected because I'm anxious lol.

He also said the A&E doctor didn't really have a clue what he was doing judging by his notes, and my GP isn't convinced I have either a Hernia or a Varicocele.

He said they are extremely common and most men have them. He also said over his 10 years as the GP he's maybe sent 2 people to get their Varicoceles treated, and he's seen many many people with them. So that gives me hope. And even then he said the procedure would just be to tie the vein off and call it good. The 2 guys who had it done have never been back with issues so that also fills me with hope.

He does think I might have a very small epididymal cyst and -maybe- a small varicocele but he couldn't really feel it to be honest.

He offered me an ultrasound scan in 8/10 weeks, I didn't have to take it if I didn't want to but I thought it would be prudent to take it incase things get any worse.

    Re: Varicocele help

    Figured I would update this.

Had the scans, complete check over everything, nothing detected aside from very very small cysts which are harmless. Not even worried about them.

Was misdiagnosed by the A&E doctor with varicocele and hernia, safe to say I won't be going there again.
