So for the past month or so, I have been getting this pain in my upper right abdomen. Sometimes it's under the rib, sometimes at the rib and sometimes closer to the middle but always in that area. It's not really a cramp but more of a sore achy feeling and a feeling of pressure, gets sharper sometimes, but not too bad to the point that I need to stop what I am doing or anything. Every now and then I will get some pains in other parts, like the upper left, but the pain in the upper right is always there. Don't seem to get relief from passing gas or stool, other than maybe very temporarily every now and then. The other main symptom I have is constipation. My stool has also been on the thin side which really worries me convincing myself I have colon cancer, but I have read that IBS could cause thin stools as well.
I went to a gastro doc and he said he thinks it is IBS and hepatic flexure syndrome, where gas and bacteria accumulate in the bend of the colon. I want to believe it is that but seems weird that the pain is there almost always and can't seem to find relief. I went to a different gastro doc for another opinion who wants to check my galbladder and scheduled me for a HIDA scan because I had also been getting kinda nauseous and lightheaded after eating, though luckily that hasn't been happening this week. I told her how I have been stressing out thinking I have colon cancer, but she said she doesn't have a reason to suspect that and a colonoscopy isn't necessary right now, only if the other testing doesn't show anything and my symptoms don't get better. I did have two stool tests (calprotectin and FIT test grow a garden) which came back normal and an ultrasound today that was unremarkable.
So I guess my main question is does anyone get symptoms like this especially where the pain in localized and not all over the abdomen?
