Sorry BlueIris I meant to get back to you, I got sidetracked.
I was on blood thinners for a while, not now.
How's the other stuff going on with you?

    Hi both,

I've been bleeding for over 6 weeks now, sometimes very heavily. Hoping I can get it sorted soon - I've been diagnosed with fibroids and I think the blood thinners aren't playing well with them.

Mental health is a little better, which I think related to my blood sugar being mostly under control.

Hugs you Blu You have so much going on, I wish there was more I could do other than sending online hugs. Women go through hell during menstrual cycles and menopause.

BlueIris, this might seem a silly question but I can't get my head round why you are on blood thinners taking in to account your monthly cycle being so long. Have you discussed this with your GP? Are you on the blood thinners because of potential clotting? Is it a precautionary? Also with the blood loss have you been offered any iron supplements or suggested foods to eat?

I'm on blood thinners because I have peripheral artery disease - potential blocked arteries in my leg, which unfortunately increases my risk of cardiac events. I don't like it, but it's something I'll need to discuss when I see a vascular surgeon and/or gynaecologist.

I'm on iron supplements and have had iron infusions recently, but I'm feeling quite washed out with the anaemia so may request further blood tests soon.

Ok, I understand that. It does however leave you with what you call a 'washed out' feeling. The iron supplements might not be enough and this you can discuss with your GP. Obviously dark green veggies, particularly spinich and kale to your regular diet will help. Are you vegetarian? Beef is a good source of iron. I'm sure you've already looked at the foods. Plenty of sleep and rest which I know can be a challenge with a full time job. x

I'm eating lots of meat and pulses, yes. Trying to rest but the foot pain makes it difficult.
