Thanks for the reply.Yea sorry that didn't make a any sense at all did it,don't know what happened there, anyway I've edited it so hopefully it makes more sense.
Basically I'm taking 7.5 mg of mirt nightimes and suffering with drowsiness through the next day and I'm wondering if taking a whole tablet would be better.
No. The problem isn't the dose, but that mirtazapine has a longish half-life, 20-40 hours depending on gender and how quickly the liver metabolizers it.
It's a pity that trazodone isn't available as a hypnotic in the UK (or in Australia at all on the PBS) as it is a much better med for SSRI/SNRI/TCA induced insomnia having a half-life of 3-9 hours.
