    Abdomen pain worries

For the last few weeks I've had a dull achy pain as if I've pulled a muscle to the left of my belly button which I can feel more when bending over. I saw an out of hours doc and he said he couldn't feel anything and wasn't worried but get a scan to see what's what.

My regular GP agreed to get an ultrasound and asked about what he thought it could be. He said he'd want to look at gallstones and IBS etc.

The problem is that I'm crippled with anxiety about it in case it's C. Touch wood bowel motions are fine etc. and I cannot stop thinking about it.

One weird thing I've noted is that as I've been highly anxious for a month I've found that when I get an anxious feeling it makes the "pain" feel worse because my stomach muscles squeeze.

Can you think back to when the pain first started? What had you been doing? Anything that could account for a pulled muscle? (But also, sneezing can pull muscles)

    What makes you think "cancer"?

Not weird at all. You've already got the explanation in what you've written. I tense my stomach when I'm anxious. (also other areas). Work on releasing the tension in that area and you will feel less pain...
