Legionella in office building

Hi all - long time no see. I’m wondering if anyone has had any actual experience with legionella exposure. I learned yesterday that my office building tested positive. This has been an ongoing issue in my city in the past few years. They are doing more testing and some mitigation this weekend but the building remains open. I’m doing what I can to stay remote at least until next week. I know the chances of actually getting sick even after exposure are very small (and it’s probably been there all along - I’ve been working here since August and this was just routine testing) but it was something that made me a bit anxious and I wanted to throw it out to the group for any words of wisdom if you’ve been in a similar situation. I know this is a super random issue, but I’m still feeling a bit nervous because I’ve been sick this week. I had a cold last week that seemed to go away by Sunday but then started back up with a lot of sinus pressure and eye irritation. It’s devolved into post nasal drip, scratchy throat, and a mild cough. I know that’s all it is, but the timing sucks. I’ve been anxiety free for more than a year now. I don’t really feel big anxiety coming here, but I’m trying to lead off the pack by reaching out for support.

I think unless you have a weakened immune system it’s very unlikely you’re at any risk. Please do just check in with your doc who could answer this very easily for you but I think you’re FINE x

Thank you! This is what I thought but never a fun thing to deal with!! They’ve treated it and we should have the results soon.
