    Pools Results

Who remembers watching TV listening to the pools results. I've been on the hunt to collect as many as the old readings I can find. It's so nice putting the readings on as background noise.

My dad's mate came up on the pools...

Can't remember how much he won, but he quit his job and him and his Mrs bought a shop and went into the grocery business...

Wow, I never met any winners. As a kid my Dad would let me spend a pound of my pocket money on guessing where the ball was. Almost won on an accumulator but one of the 12 teams let me down (Newcastle, I still remember the day clearly lol). Never been much of a gambler but those quid bets are fun.

I also know a lad who won the National Lottery.(several millions)

Didn't change him at all, but his family, with whom he shared his wealth, suddenly started swanning around like they owned the place...

I think I've won about £50 since the Lottery started, lol. (I like playing the 25p games after I've put a fiver on the Lottery)

    Re: Pools Results

Money has a way of ruining some people. I see it all too often. There was a time I had it, and chased it like it was a God. My life revolved around making money, and it was never enough. Everything I enjoyed in life I stopped enjoying. I stopped learning. I stopped making music. It took over 10 years to break that mindset. I lost all value and respect for money. Today I am happy with what I have, and I would rather work hard on my ideas. If any of them return any fruit, then bonus. But I don't do anything for money. My hobbies are not a job.

Some of my ideas revolve around low energy, and "off grid" type situations. You see, my dream would be to live as a nomad in a tent and hike the UK. Whether I'll ever do that or not I do not know, but hiking and wild camping is something I enjoy. Because out there is nobody, just me, nature, my dog, and God. So my ideas are based around what I would need and fine useful.

For example, a device that pings my GPS position to my server, and family can see where I'm at. They can also see various biometrics and details. It runs on super low energy and lasts months on a lithium ion battery. I'm not sure if these things exist, if they do I don't want to know, because learning how to build a device like this is fun.

I wish a job existed where a person is free to use their skills to just create and invent. That'd be perfect for me. I'd love that.

I'm far too sensory for tents. (Turns out that being in a 4 berth caravan with Mr B, an autistic pre-teen and a lurcher wasn't quite the picnic either)

Then there's the utter joy of emptying the chemical toilet (pink for stink, blue for loo is etched into my brain) and having a complete breakdown if anyone uses normal loo roll!

'Off grid' for me is a sweet little coastal cottage somewhere in Scotland where Tesco delivers to....
