    Anal fissure

Sorry guys grim one here…. I’ve had on and off constipation last couple of week with my ibs and I’ve had a very sore bum!! Today I went to the toilet and there was blood on the paper and the rim and little on my poop! I went to docs a couple of days ago who said I might have a small internal tear! Trying not to spiral and accept that’s what this is!

Yup that is what it will be or piles. Painful - I have had one too.

Yep I’ve had exactly the same. I can sort of tell when I’ve got one now so I just don’t look in the toilet when I feel it. But that’s very standard! They can take a while to heal and there is a cream you can get but just stay really hydrated to keep things soft

    Re: Anal fissure

I had one after an especially tense moment on the loo where I swear blind a bit of undigested peanut exploded out of my anus....

Felt like a paper cut on the inside of my bumhole.. (and we all know how painful paper cuts are)

I found using Anusol/Germaloid suppositories useful...(Once the rabbit is in the hole, so to speak, the relief is sweet, sweet heaven)

It will take some time to heal, but you'll get there.

Take a stool softener, or psyllium husks in water, make sure you're drinking a lot of water, if you can get in a tub pour some Epsom Salts in the bath and soak your bum. Also don't push or strain to poop, and wipe gently you can also put some aquaphor or vaseline around the anal opening and inside a bit to help soothe the area, I get them sometimes and it's a pain literally.

    Re: Anal fissure

I was told it can take a really long time as the skin is thin and moist and irritates really easily. I can’t honestly remember doing much other than waiting mine out but if it’s really bothering you please ask a doctor x
