    Ectopics

For the past week, I've have been getting really bad ectopic heartbeats. I have them during the day, but I often wake up during the night and have a run of them, they seem to come every few minutes and are often two or three in a row. As usual I'm scared and worried there is something wrong with my heart. I know i should go to see my GP, but it's so difficult with my anxiety. I know they are common and can be normal, but the ones I'm having a night seem really bad.

    Re: Ectopics

I have had a really bad night, my heart has been missing lots of beats, and seems to go fast, slower and then fast again.
I realise I need to stop checking my pulse, I'm sure this isnt just anxiety.
    Very scared...

I know I probably wont get a reply, but I'm going to post anyway.
Last night was horrendous, just before I went to bed a had an ectopic beat, I have been getting alot of these. This sent me into a panic, resulting in fast pulse and lots of skipped heart beats, took about an hour to stop.
I'm scared and worried there is something wrong with my heart, I know I should go to my gp...

I keep having palpitations with heart rate going up and down with some ectopics, really worried this is atrial fibrillation.
Why cant I just go to my GP, just so scared.

I think you should see your GP for reassurance. Do you consume too much caffeine?

You are right, I should see my GP.
I only have two cups of tea a day now.
    Stress definitely makes them worse.
