    Blood

Abit of a long story.......so in 2018 I had some random bleeding from my bottom, I went into pure hell meltdown convinced I had BC my son was little and I couldn't leave him. I paid to see a private gastro who said he thought it was nothing but eventually suggested to my doctor I had a colonoscopy which I did. They found a couple of polyps one low grade adenoma. Since then I've had them every 3 years. Always found polpys that were benign. 3 years ago this summer I was found to be severely anemic turns out after lots of tests it is down to my heavy periods, I'm 44, put straight on iron tablets and it's been level since. I have bloods every 3 months due in march, always been level as I said. Last year may time I sudden took notice of my dark stools on and off, obviously due to iron tablets but i panicked had a early blood test and a fit test, all fine of course. Anyway I've got bad piles always have made worse during pregnancy, they bleed sometimes when I wipe but nothing dramatic. I've been on my period nealry finished and then yesterday!

Got up went for a poo fine, when back later for a wee got up and there was bright red blood I the pan like a period. I wiped and there was only pale coming from front, I wiped back and it was from there. Panic like anything. I had to get to work, went for a poo there and nothing in the poo but on the tissue. Then bleed again an hr later when I went for a wee and again when I got home but I had a wee stood up looked nothing sat down wiped and bright red blood from the bum and in the toilet again. Spoke to a doctor who saw me and said its piles he could see where its coming from. Do I believe him. No.

I'm so sick of myself. I'm convinced now I have bowel caner and it will be found in August. I may ask to do a fit test on Monday of I can speak to a doctor.

    Thanks for reading xx

    Re: Blood

I know how scary all this is, we tend to worry ourselves unnecessarily and no matter how much we try to tell ourselves we're being irrational or worrying about nothing, it doesn't stop us.

On a more positive note, worrying about things can make sure we get early action. We pay attention more to things that are out of the ordinary which is fine as long as it doesn't become an obsession. It sounds like you're taking control of the situation in seeking early medical support and it sounds absolutely the right thing to do in the situation.

A FIT test will tell you what you already know; there's blood. It cant tell you where its coming from or what's causing it but if your doctor has told you they can physically see where the blood is coming from i can't imagine they'd be lieing about it.

    Positive FIT complete state

I'm in a state. My fit test has come back positive 32. Speaking to the doctor tomorrow and imagine I'll be 2 week pathway for colonoscopy.

Long back story of colonoscopies every 3 years since 2018. Severe anemia 3 years ago due to periods. Polyps found on colonoscopies but benign.

So I had bloods done in Jan and fine, I take 200mg ferrous sulfate now, it's been fine for 3 years. I think two weeks ago at the end of my period I had some bright red bleeding from my bottom. It wasn't period, I saw the doc and he said it was coming from a pile. Happened twice then not again. Anxiety went through the roof though, doctor said do a fit and re do bloods (tomorrow) I think I'd convinced myself the fit would be fine, i did one in May and it was fine, but no. 32. Now I'm in full panic convinced I have bowel cancer. I can't control myself. I'm sure bloods will have dropped too so even more scarred.

    Anyone talk to me xx

I have a husband and 14 year old but they struggle to understand xx
