Citalopram stopped working

Hi guys,

I've been on Citalopram for just over a year now, i'm currently taking 40mg. When i first started taking them i felt great, no more panic attacks or depression, but just recently i have been suffering with really bad anxiety attacks to the point where i sometimes pass out or i'm phsically sick. I just feel my current medication has stopped working.

Has anyone else experianced this ? If so what would you advise me to do ?

hi there. i would go back to your gp and see what they advise. have you been under a lot of stress recently? my gp told me that antidepressants only make symptoms easier to manage - they take the edge of so that you can start to deal with the anxiety symptoms yourself. i was on lustral for 4 years and the last year i didn't feel mine were working but when i look back i had so much stress in my life it wasn't surprising! deep breathing and using comforting inner talk should help to limit the attacks. x
