    Has anyone tried GABA?

    Hi,
I was taking the odd Calmax now and then but did not like feeling out of it so did a bit of research and started taking GABA 500mg yesterday. I am only going to take one a day but feel a bit better already I think! Its an amino acid with no side effects at recommended levels and decreases production of adrenaline, normally your brain produces enough GABA but a period of high stress and anxiety can deplete it. Has anyone else tried it? And if so how have you found it? Am interested in feedback, thanks.

    Hi again,
I got it in the health food shop, its manufactured by lots of different companies probably but I got the Solgar one as they have an excellent reputation.

I have been thinking it sounds like GABA - a neurotransmitter that keeps stress-related nerve impulses under control, would be a good thing to take.

But I haven't since I see lots of info on google saying it doesn't/may not easily cross the blood brain barrier. So I figured it would be a waste of money.

If anyone has had experience with it as a supplement let us know.
