    I did it!

Today hubby had to take his car, son had to get daughter to school in my car, so I decided to take the bus to work

Two years ago I did my first bus trip in years, only managed a couple of stops and was panicking constantly. Today, I had to get the bus at 7.15am in order to get to work on time. I walked over the road, stood at the bus stop, no panic at all. The bus came, I was the only one on there! Paid my fare (£1.50!!!) that shocked me cos it was about 5 shillings and sixpence last time I travelled

A few more people got on on the way, but my anxiety was probably at about 1 out of 10

The bus was obviously early so we sat around at several stops for a while with the bus door open and it was about -20

I got off at my stop, and couldn't stop smiling that I'd actually done it and not really thought too much about it whilst on the bus

Ooh as one who also finds buses difficult I can appreciate just what an achievement that was - well done Kate!!

    Re: I did it!

Thanks everyone! Hubby came to pick me up from work and I told him I'd gone on the bus, and he was like "You did WHAT??" hehe.

I think I will probably do it again tomorrow just to prove to myself that I can! Still a bit miffed about the cost though

    Re: I did it!

Hi Kate, Well done, thats great news. At the weekend I drove the car 70 miles home from my parents in Yorkshire. That was the first time in almost 2 years too. Only a year ago I could bearly get the car 1/4 mile up the road to Tescos, so the 70 mile drive was a big thing. My husband was in the car with me at the time and I was ok although I am not sure I would want to try driving back to my parents on my own yet. But it was a great step forward anyway.

    Love Shirley
