    Volunteering at MIND

    Hi all

I start my volunteering at MIND tonight! I'm quite excited

I say "quite" because there is a touch of the old nerves in there too but I'm sure I'll be fine once I get there and I see a few of the volunteers I met at my training last week.

Looking forward to meeting some new people and hopefully being able to make a difference

    Re: Volunteering at MIND

    Thanks for your support guys

Jo, MIND run these drop-in centres for people with mental health problems where people can just turn up.

Its a place for people to socialise with others when they may not have had much contact with other people due to their conditions.

So I am there to basically socialise with the people that come in, provide a bit of company. Sometimes the volunteers are confided in but mainly its just general chit chat

I'm starting to get more nervous now, I'm sure I'll be fine but its just the anticipation! lol

Thanks all for your kind wishes

It was great, I really enjoyed myself. Everyone was really nice and we had conversations about everything and anything! I'm so glad I went and will be going back next week

    Thanks all
