OCD course in south London Sat 23 Apr

I'm not an OCD sufferer but have just got an e-mail telling me of this course.

OCDACTION WORKING WITH PROF PAUL SALKOVSKIS, FIONA CHALLACOMBE AND TEAM INVITE YOU TO A ONE-DAY WORKSHOP:

“SUPERMUMS IN THE MAKING: FIGHT YOUR OCD AND STILL BE A GREAT MUM”

This one-day workshop will give the opportunity to learn more about ways in which children can be affected by living with a mum with OCD and how problems might be prevented. It will also provide an opportunity to meet other sufferers and share experiences of coping with this difficult problem and the responsibilities of parenthood.

We would like to focus the course on the issues most relevant to participants, which are currently not well understood. As part of this, we are asking participants to complete some questionnaires about themselves and their child as well as a short interview with them and their child at a convenient time before the course. (Please note that nothing about their mum’s anxiety will be discussed with the children). All individual information collected will be anonymous, but overall themes from the data will be fed back during the workshop. (Participants can withdraw their consent from this part at any time.) As this is a new course, we would also like participants to complete an evaluation afterwards so we can see how helpful it has been.

DATE AND TIME: Saturday 23rd April 2005
    10am - 4 pm

    VENUE: South London

There is no cost for the workshop; however, places are limited, so please register your interest as early as possible.

For more information about participation please contact Fiona Challacombe on 0207 919 3212 or f.challacombe@iop.kcl.ac.uk
