    Exercise On Presciption

Hi, appols if i've put this in the wrong group but has anyone tried or use Exercise On Presciption ?

I see a counsellor for anxiety etc and suggested i try E.O.P along with CBT which i've recently started

I'm quite abit outa shape so do need to sort me physical side out, but more importantly for me is dealing with anxiety and what comes attached with it.

I did walk to work the other day rather than drive (5 mile) and apart from being cream cracked when i got to work i did find that i felt alot less stress , anxiety and generally felt alot better for it and a lot more energy through the day .

There is a local council gym about 5mins from my house that does E.O.P

So im just waiting for them to contact me .

    Thanx

    Tim

me too paul! lol ive just remewed mine and hubbies gym membership, so we are now skint! - how can you ge this if you work? my docs do offer it, bu ti think you have to be on low income or benefits to qualify which we arent. does this apply to you? persoanlly i think exercise is THE single best thing you can do when suffering - it may niot work immediately, but give it a month and you should feel, healthier, happier and calmer and be sleeping better

    Hi Emmas,

Yes iam on low income unfortunately . Exercize has helped me BIG time, like you say though you havto stick at it " burn it to earn it " as it won't work miracles overnight.

    Hi there,

I'm currently training to become a Fitness Instructor and I take meds. May need med's for my entire life as I have Bi-polar aswell as anxiety.

Exercise helps me SO much, which is why I've chosen this field to work in.

    I feel more alive .

    Keep it up !!!

    Exercise on prescription? Whatever next.

Get a pair of trainers and go running, or go for a walk.

Better still, join a running club. Great for meeting people, getting regular
exercise and being a part of a group.

Who knows, you might even enter a race, and have fun doing so.

I have and I get a really good feeling of achievement and accomplishment
    from entering races.
